Tracing its roots to a chance collaboration between high school basketball teammates Tahmique Cameron (singer) and Gabe Fox-Peck (producer), Young Bull has been gaining traction for the last four years, revitalizing the Durham, North Carolina hip hop scene and gaining national notoriety. Young Bull’s chemistry was further electrified by the addition of its third member and rapper Christian Sinclair last year. Since the release of their debut studio album, Sopadelic, and an accompanying East Coast tour in the summer of 2017, Young Bull has continued to play shows from Boston to Atlanta, backed by some of the country’s finest and funkiest live musicians.
What began as an unassuming SoundCloud upload in 2014 transformed into a full-length album (Sopadelic) in 2016, which now has over 1,000,000 digital streams on Spotify alone; what began as a school talent show act transformed into energetic festival and club performances with the likes of Mike Posner, Well$, Freeway, Masego, Big Freedia, and countless others. Add that to several high-profile features (Huffington Post, Worldstar Hip Hop, H-WING) and a host of radio appearances (K97.5, Choice FM 92.1, WKNC 88.1) and Young Bull is well on its way to challenging Hip-Hop and R&B’s biggest artists.
